Buyer beware of
German Sounding Kennel Names
They may not be German, but a ploy to deceive novices.

This kennel name list is intended to help novices find the type of bloodlines used by the various kennels and the country of origin.

GSD kennel names & bloodlines

This list includes only advertised kennel names (public domain). Some of the breeders listed are members of the "United Schutzhund Clubs of America" (also called "USA" or "USCA"), the only GSD Registry in north America trying to comply with international FCI and WUSV breed rules. These breeders are doing their very best to breed Real German Shepherds, similar to the way they are being bred in Germany under SV rules, and in many other countries under FCI and WUSV rules.

Unfortunately, while some breeders like to use German sounding names to indicate their German bloodlines, some American show breeders are also using German sounding names in an attempt to hide their American show bloodlines.
I have spent countless hours over a period of several months scrutinizing any information I could find, to establish
an approximate starting base for this list. I hope to use this base to build a comprehensive and reasonably correct bloodline database (the progress depends on the help I receive), so novices have a chance to find the most suitable breeders according to the bloodlines they use (as well as a few other indicators), and to help them separate honest from dishonest breeders.

If your kennel is on the list and you feel it should have received a different rating, please use one of these forms to provide additional information. Simple e-mails can not be verified and have to be ignored.
